Mark Norbury is set to step down as chief executive of UnLtd after more than a decade of leadership.
UnLtd funds and supports social entrepreneurs who build ventures to solve societal challenges.
Norbury joined the social enterprise support charity in 2016 and will leave next summer to work with more organisations across different sectors, the charity said.
“UnLtd is an incredible organisation and community, where I have had so much learning, joy, fulfilment and worthwhile challenge,” he said.
“UnLtd does phenomenal work because of this community – inspiring social entrepreneurs, dynamic, diverse, talented team, insightful and values-driven board, generous and open partners.
“I hope I can now further empower social entrepreneurs by fuelling collaboration across the sectors and organisations, increasing business and government engagement with social entrepreneurs in building a better, fairer future.”
Rachel Barton, chair of UnLtd, said Norbury’s “energy, ambition and unwavering belief” in the potential of social entrepreneurs has shaped the charity and its contribution to the wider sector.
“[Norbury] will leave an organisation with a clear strategy, strong partnerships and huge ambition for what comes next,” Barton said.
“On behalf of the board, I want to thank Mark for everything he has given to UnLtd, and particularly for ensuring the organisation is in such a strong position for its next chapter.
“I’m excited about UnLtd’s future and how we continue to put social entrepreneurs front and centre of positive change.”
The charity has opened recruitment for the chief executive role and plans to appoint Norbury’s successor early next year.
