Sally Daniels is to step down as chief executive of the sight loss charity Henshaws.
She will leave the role next month before moving to become executive director of finance and operational excellence at the learning disability charity Hft.
However, Daniels will remain with Henshaws until December to support the transition period and lead a number of key projects.
She joined Henshaws in December 2021 as director of finance and resources, before becoming education and care services director and interim chief in 2022.
Daniels became permanent chief executive of the charity in October 2023.
Alistair How, who has been chair of Henshaws since 2023, will also step down from his role in October, for personal reasons. He will remain as a trustee until December to support a smooth transition, the charity said.
Pete Bulkley, vice-chair of Henshaws, will succeed How as chair.
Daniels said: “It has been a privilege to lead Henshaws and to work alongside so many committed colleagues, volunteers, trustees and supporters.
“I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and, most importantly, of the difference our teams make every day to the people we support.”
Tom Harte, the charity’s chief operating officer and who has been in the role for the past two years, will become interim chief from October, as trustees begin a formal recruitment process to appoint a permanent leader.
He said: “Sally and Alistair have both made an important contribution to Henshaws, and I am looking forward to working with Pete, our trustees, colleagues and partners to build on the progress we have made.
“My priority will be to provide continuity and leadership through this period, while continuing to improve and develop our services and ensuring that the people we support remain at the centre of every decision we make.”
