The chief executive of ShelterBox has stepped down after almost seven years in the role.
The disaster relief charity said Sanj Srikanthan left at the end of August.
A spokesperson for the charity was not able to confirm what Srikanthan plans to do next.
Claire Goudsmit, chair of ShelterBox, said: “We would like to thank Sanj Srikanthan for his passion and commitment over the past seven years.
“Under his leadership, ShelterBox has evolved significantly, expanding our reach and strengthening our ability to support communities affected by disaster and conflict around the world. The board wishes him every success in his next chapter.”
ShelterBox has appointed Roger Yates as interim chief executive for about six months while a permanent leader is found.
The charity said Yates would bring more than 40 years’ experience working in local and international NGOs and the United Nations.
He spent 17 years at Plan International, most recently as regional director for the Middle East, East and Southern Africa.
Yates has also had spells as acting head of emergencies and conflict at ActionAid and emergency programme co-ordinator at Oxfam, and also lived and worked in Kenya, Tanzania and Somalia.
He said: “The organisation has a great reputation for supporting people in some of the world’s most challenging humanitarian situations, and I look forward to working with staff, volunteers, supporters and partners to continue delivering that vital mission.”
Yates will join ShelterBox in October.
