William Blake House administrators complete services sale

The joint administrators of the social care charity William Blake House have completed the sale of its residential and assisted living services to a fellow charity.

Camphill Milton Keynes has assumed responsibility for the services, with all 72 employees transferring as part of the transaction, which was secured for an undisclosed sum.

William Blake House, which provided residential care to young adults with learning disabilities across four homes, went into administration in April.

It came after the Charity Commission opened a statutory inquiry into the Northamptonshire-based charity, regarding £1.5m it owes to HM Revenue & Customs.

Adam Stephens and Chris Allen, joint administrators at S&W Partners, said the now-completed sale to Camphill Milton Keynes had secured a long-term future for the services while maintaining uninterrupted care for residents throughout the administration process.

The transfer of all staff at the services had also helped to maintain continuity, experience and familiarity for residents under the new ownership, the administrators said.

The administrators will continue to progress any remaining matters, they said, including the marketing and sale of the Country Centre in Northampton and the associated land, which did not form part of the transaction with Camphill Milton Keynes.

Stephens said: “When we were appointed on 1 April 2026, our objective was to secure a sustainable future for the services while protecting the interests of residents, employees and stakeholders.

“We are delighted to have successfully completed this transaction, which achieves that objective and represents an excellent outcome for everyone involved.”

Allen added: “Completion marks the culmination of months of hard work and collaboration across the William Blake House community.

“We are particularly pleased that residents will continue to receive the care and support they rely upon within an organisation that shares the charity’s ethos and community-focused approach.

“This transaction also provides certainty for employees and creates a strong foundation for the future development of the services under Camphill MK’s stewardship.”
