Music

Squid have shared two covers to raise funds for a Bristol food bank. Natural Resources features a cover of Robert Wyatt’s “Pigs (In There)” (from their 2019 End of the Road Festival set) and a version of Steve Reich’s “Clapping Music” (recorded for an NME session). Check out the artwork by John Molesworth and listen to the songs below.

“We’ve all been affected by COVID in some way, but for people who were already struggling, the pandemic has increased the likelihood of lasting difficulties that will continue after lockdown comes to an end,” the band wrote in a statement. “All of the proceeds from this release will be given to the East Bristol Food Bank who are offering vital support in the local area, covering the whole city across 5 outlets. For more information go to www.eastbristol.foodbank.org.uk.”

Earlier this year, Squid signed to Warp and shared the singles “Sludge” and “Broadcaster.”
