Harry Styles Says the Scariest Thing This Halloween Is New York Citys Coffee Prices

Harry Styles has encountered something scarier than any Halloween costume: New York City’s coffee prices. During the first night of his “Harryween” celebration at Madison Square Garden on Friday, October 30th, the singer, dressed as Elvis Presley, took a moment to kvetch about the price of a cappuccino and the unavoidable pressure to tip.

“The scariest thing about this Halloween is the price of caffeinated beverages in this city,” Styles told the crowd. “Astronomical. It’s out of control. They have to be stopped.” He continued, “It’s a cappuccino. It can’t be $10. It can’t be!” Turning his attention to the dreaded checkout screen, Styles added, “Then you spin it round at me. 20, 22, 24 percent. It’s out of control.”

The coffee rant came during the penultimate night of Styles’ 30-show “Together, Together” residency at Madison Square Garden. Beyond channeling the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll in a golden rhinestoned white jumpsuit and cape, Styles also recreated his 2010 X Factor audition outfit and performed Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely,” the song he originally sang for the show’s judges at age 16. His residency concludes tonight, October 31st, with a second Harryween performance.
