The policy director of the National Youth Agency has been appointed chief executive of the education charity Titan Partnership.
Harriet McCann will join the north and west Birmingham education charity on 12 October.
She succeeds the charity’s last permanent chief executive, Jas Rohel, who left a year ago to pursue other opportunities, a spokesperson for Titan Partnership said.
McCann was previously Titan Partnership’s chair from November 2025, until she stepped down to apply for the chief executive role.
She worked at the National Youth Agency from January 2023, first as director of policy and communications, before becoming the youth charity’s director of policy, insights and external affairs in March last year.
McCann also worked at Youth Futures Foundation from March 2021 to December 2022, first as head of policy, later becoming interim director of engagement in April 2022.
She also held various public affairs, communications and policy roles at the National Literacy Trust from October 2013 to March 2021.
McCann has been part of the public affairs committee at the charity Impetus since March this year; and is a trustee for the charities Classics for All and Birmingham Playcare Network.
She began her career as a teacher of history, classics and Latin, and has served as an expert panel member for the Department for Education, contributing to work on Personal, Social and Employability qualification standards.
McCann said: “Titan has an important role to play in bringing schools and partners together, strengthening the local education workforce and creating opportunities for children and young people to thrive.
“I’m looking forward to working with headteachers, schools and the Titan team to understand where Titan can add the most value and create opportunities that schools may not have the time or capacity to pursue alone.
“I’m also excited to build partnerships with organisations across Birmingham that share our commitment to improving outcomes and opportunities for children and young people.”

Frances Child, Titan Partnership’s interim executive director, will continue to lead the organisation until McCann joins next month, after which she will remain with the charity leading its education programmes.
