Football club foundation changes name

The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has changed its name to better reflect its purpose and the people it supports.

The charity, which was founded in 2006 and works in communities across north London, has changed its operating name to Spurs in the Community.

The organisation said it was marking its 20th anniversary by bringing its name “closer to the people and places at the centre of its work”.

More than 13,000 people participated in about 10,500 hours of community programmes run by Spurs in the Community in 2025, generating £24.4m in social value for the local area, the charity said.

A spokesperson for Spurs in the Community said: “The charity is moving into its next chapter with a new strategy due later in 2026, and the name change and look and feel was designed to more closely reflect the focus of our work for the coming years, more of which will become clear when we launch our new strategy soon.

“It’s not a logo-only change: the aim is that anyone interacting with the charity, whether through a programme, an event or online, sees a consistent identity that reflects the community focus in the name itself.”

When asked about the rebrand’s cost, Spurs in the Community said it delivered the rebrand in-house using its parent club’s internal design resources.

The charity’s logo has changed from one that used the football club’s navy blue colours to a set of logos incorporating the club’s badge and a new font with a purple and gold colour scheme.

Marc Leckie, chief executive of Spurs in the Community, said the club motto “To dare is to do” is at the heart of the charity’s new identity.

“It’s a belief that care is more than words. It means showing up, listening, building trust and taking action.

“Spurs in the Community better reflects who we are, who we serve and where we belong, while building on the trusted Spurs name that’s underpinned our work for two decades.

“This is much more than a change of name. It’s a statement of intent for the next chapter: to keep listening to what matters to our communities, creating opportunities and turning care into action.”
