A new Avatar is on the way.
Paramount+ has officially unveiled the first teaser trailer for Avatar: Seven Havens at San Diego Comic-Con, giving fans their first glimpse at the next chapter in the beloved Avatar franchise. The studio also confirmed when the highly anticipated animated series is scheduled to debut.
Created by the minds behind Avatar: The Last Airbender, Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, Avatar: Seven Havens takes place after the events of The Legend of Korra. The new 26-episode animated series follows Pavi, a young Earthbender who discovers she is the next Avatar. However, instead of being celebrated and honored, Pavi is feared.
This time around, the Avatar has been branded as a threat instead of a hero. In the new era that the upcoming series takes place in, the Avatar is seen as being the destroyer of humanity. As a result, Pavi and her twin are being hunted by humans and supernatural forces while trying to save the Seven Havens.
The newly released teaser offers the first look at the series’ grim setting, showing a very different side of the Avatar universe. The trailer reveals that Pavi must embark on a dangerous journey alongside her twin sister, Nisha. The pair must uncover the truth behind the origins of her powers. The preview also teases several intense moments that could potentially redefine the franchise.
Paramount+ also confirmed that Avatar: Seven Havens will premiere globally on October 9, 2026, with all 26 episodes releasing at once. The full-season rollout strategy is similar to Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series, allowing audiences to enjoy the full story all at once instead of waiting for weekly episodes.
Avatar: Seven Havens, like the other installments of the franchise, will feature a massive ensemble cast. The upcoming series will star Saheli Khan (Pavi), Aishu Devan(Nisha), Akshay Khanna (Karthik), Major Curda (Jae), Sakina Jaffrey (Agam), Darren Barnet (Daemin), Dianne Doan (Zi), and Dee Bradley Baker (Geet and Ruhi).
The series will be directed by Lauren Montgomery. DiMartino and Konietzko also serve as executive producers on the project alongside Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. Avatar: Seven Havens is produced by Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios.
All 26 episodes of Avatar: Seven Havens will be released on October 9, 2026, on Paramount+.
