The anti-knife crime campaigner and survivor empowerment champion Wes Cunliffe will chair the judging panel for the 2026 Third Sector Awards.
Cunliffe, who won the Rising Star accolade at the 2025 awards, works with the domestic violence charity Calan DVS facilitating an advocacy, awareness and support programme for survivors of male domestic violence.
His work also addresses knife crime and exploitation, with an emphasis on prevention, early intervention and recovery-informed practice.
The judging panel also includes Bushra Baig-Daykin, associate director of inclusion at the Alzheimer’s Society, and Ryan McKiernan, managing director of Fat Macy’s Foundation.
The awards, which are sponsored by specialist insurance provider Ansvar, celebrate the work of charities and the difference they make to society.
Charities can compete in a range of categories split into three main areas: excellence, partnerships and talent.
The second deadline for awards entries falls on 28 May, with a final deadline on 4 June.
The shortlist will be released in July and the awards ceremony will take place in central London in September.
