The Fundraising Regulator has promoted Nikki Renken (pictured) to head of casework.

The regulator said Renken, who has spent the past two years as case manager, succeeds Catherine Orr, who has stepped down after six years in the role because she is relocating to Scotland with her family.

In a statement, the regulator said Renken had been involved with small charities as an employee, volunteer and trustee throughout her career, most recently working with small churches.

“Her experience also includes advice work, consumer representation, complaint handling and statutory regulation in the healthcare and energy sectors,” the regulator said.

Gerald Oppenheim, chief executive of the Fundraising Regulator, said: “It has been a pleasure working with Nikki while she has been case manager at the Fundraising Regulator for the past two years.

“She has developed an invaluable wealth of knowledge and experience while being an integral part of our growing casework team.”

Renken said she was “looking forward to building on the increasing engagement the casework team has with the sector to ensure compliance with the code, using a proportionate and realistic approach”.
