Lorde Debuts New Music at UK Festival

Lorde offered the first possible glimpse of her next album by debuting two new songs during a performance at the UK’s Boardmasters festival on Friday.

The New Zealand singer is amidst a run of UK and European festival appearances. During earlier performances — including at Norway’s Øya Festival — she hinted at a return to the electro pop of her earlier material with reworkings of songs from Solar Power.

The songs debuted on Friday — which are titled “Silver Moon” and “Invisible Ink,” according to her setlist — also embodied a sonic direction akin to her 2017 album, Melodrama. Watch fan-captured footage of both performances below.

Lorde previously said she was trying to “move as quickly” as possible to release the follow-up to 2021’s Solar Power.
