Princess Beatrice Wore the York Tiara at the Royal Wedding in Jordan

It’s been nearly two weeks since Crown Prince Hussein married his new wife, Princess Rajwa, in an Amman ceremony attended by royals and dignitaries from around the world, and the Royal Hashemite Court has continued to share photos of the big event. On Sunday, they shared images of wedding guests arriving at the nighttime reception, and they showed Princess Kate and Princess Beatrice showing off some Windsor heirloom jewelry.

In the photos, Kate is wearing a red and blue Royal Victorian Order sash, and Prince William is wearing his blue Order of the Garter sash. Instead of the Elie Saab gown with floral embroidery she wore to the earlier katb al-kitab signing ceremony, she changed into a sequin-covered pink dress from Jenny Packham, which she accessorized with the diamond and pearl Lover’s Knot tiara. For the first time, Kate wore a set of chandelier earrings with twelve platinum-set diamonds that used to belong to Queen Elizabeth II, and were originally given to the Queen Mother as a part of a bequest from the British philanthropist Margaret Greville.

Beatrice, on the other hand, was photographed in a family heirloom that entered the family more recently. She paired a blush-colored dress from Reem Acra with the York tiara, a diamond scroll tiara from Garrard that the late queen gave to Sarah Ferguson in advance of her 1986 wedding to Prince Andrew.

On a recent episode of her podcast, Tea Talks With the Duchess and Sarah, Ferguson explained that Beatrice had some trouble finding someone to place the tiara correctly for the event. “The first hairdresser she went to, she put the tiara on thinking she’d watched too much Disney. Right at the front!” she said. “But anyway, Beatrice then did it and put it on herself. But she did look incredible, I was very, very proud of her.”

William, Kate, and Beatrice were also included in a wide-angle group photo showing the bride and groom alongside 59 royals and dignitaries, including Jill Biden and royals from Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands, Bhutan, Denmark, Brunei, Malaysia and Luxembourg. (Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, was also present at the wedding but he was not in the group shot.)
