In today’s architectural landscape, houses in the style of mid-century modern and minimalism are the top picks for new buyers. Its clean lines, muted curves, large windows and interior design based on functionality resonated closely with how people are living their lives these days. By way of contrast, the return to socialisation and entertainment resulted in a growing interest towards opulence and grandiosity. Houses that espouse such regal and luxuriant aesthetics have grown to be a popular choice for property hunters.

Currently on the market is a Beverly Hills Mansion that has touches of romanticism and medieval architecture. Spanning an area of 15,000 square feet, the property is going to appeal to those who have a penchant for fantasy. Highlight lights of the house include a giant replica of the iron throne from the “Game of Thrones” series, an apothecary cabinet resembling that from “Harry Potter” and a backyard inspired by “Alice in Wonderland”.

Within the sprawling house is 35 feet high triple-vaulted ceiling with a chandelier overhanging, a jungle room decorated with lush faux plants and large fireplaces. It also has seven bedrooms. Complementing the Mediterranean-style mansion includes a custom bar room, a family room, a chef’s kitchen, a pool and spa, a sports court and a six-car basement garage as shared in a listing.

The property is being sold for US$22 million by Robert Rivani and his wife who bought the mansion in 2019 for US$13.765 million. “Being ‘extra’ is everything to us,” Ms Rivani shared in an article with The Wall Street Journal last October. “It makes life fun and interesting and memorable.”
