In our second installment of the most anticipated luxury property openings around the world, here is a curated list of new openings in Asia and Australia for 2023.

Asia

The Anam Mui Ne – scheduled opening: January 11, 2023

With a design inspired by Vietnam’s Indochine era, The Anam Mui Ne, will be on a prime beachfront location with 127 elegant rooms and suites. Evoking a romantic atmosphere with details crafted by artisans from across Vietnam, the design echoes Vietnam’s bygone Indochine period. Along with three dining offerings, five-treatment-room spa, two spacious swimming pools and a fitness center, the resort will implement an array of measures to reduce its carbon footprint. Stay at a luxurious private pool suite or the presidential suite which has separate quarters for bodyguards.

Mondrian Singapore Duxton – scheduled opening: February 2023

Luxury meets lifestyle for Mondrian first hotel in Singapore located in the charming ‘day-to-night’ Duxton Hill neighborhood of Singapore’s bustling Downtown Core District. With 300 guest rooms and suites, as well as a rooftop pool and bar and signature restaurant, the hotel will also feature a speakeasy bar with a hidden entrance for travelers and locals to explore. A combination of historic architecture from Singapore’s centuries-old shophouses with a new build of modern, contemporary influences, the hotel will soar above the rustic and charming shophouses in Chinatown.

JW Marriott Jeju Resort and Spa – scheduled opening: early Q1 2023

Located in a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site, JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa captures the key aspects of Jeju’s culture through its design narrative – an abstract representation of the island’s Choga architecture – and is a harmonious fusion of spirit, culture and nature. The 197 key hotel includes ocean view rooms and suites, natural hot springs and an infinity pool overlooking Jeju’s incredible coastline. Additionally, there is a Sky lobby with a bridge to the rooftop Silvergrass Bar and below it the Flying Hawk and Mrs Kim restaurants.

JW Marriott Hotel Xi’an – scheduled opening: Q1 2023

Primed to offer guests a distinctive travel experience by blending the ancient beauty of Chang’an with the sophistication of the JW Marriott brand, JW Marriott Hotel Xi’an will be in the CBD area of Xi’an Economic and Technological Development Zone. When in the lobby on the 38th floor of the building or in any of the 333 guestrooms and suites, guests will be presented with a large panoramic mesmerizing portrayal of the city view. Along with a spa and fitness center, the hotel will feature three dining concepts including its signature Cantonese restaurant, Jin Wei Court and all-day dining JW Kitchen.

The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka – scheduled opening: Q2 2023

In Fukuoka central business district, The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka will be the centerpiece of a new 24-story building. Just a 15-minute walk to Hakata Station and Japan’s high-speed rail, the property will feature 162 guest rooms and suites and a total of six distinct culinary experiences. Along with a 10,800 sq. ft. signature Ritz-Carlton Spa and Fitness Center and an indoor swimming pool, locals and visitors alike will be drawn to this new hotel.

A Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Jiuzhaigou– scheduled opening:Q2 2023

Rissai Valley, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve will bring the traditions, culture, community and soul of this Chinese valley to life. Twenty minutes from the UNESCO World Heritage Jiuzhaigou National Park and one hour flight from Chengdu airport followed by a 75-minute scenic drive, the resort will offer three dining venues, locally inspired spa experiences in their 27,078 square-foot spa and thoughtfully designed villas as part of their total of 87 accommodations.

JW Marriott Goa Vagator – scheduled opening: Q2 2023

Set in the North of Goa, this relaxing sanctuary is surrounded by the beautiful beaches of Goa. JW Marriott Goa Vagator will feature 151 guest rooms designed with clean and calming lines inspired by the charm of Goa, some with views of lush greenery and sights of the Arabian Sea. It will house a number of dining establishments and a JW bar as well as wellness facilities which houses a spa, salon and gym.

Avani+ Fares Resorts – scheduled opening:Q2 2023

Avani+ Fares Resorts is the first Maldives resort from Avani Hotels & Resorts and it is set to open its doors in the Baa Atoll. Just 35 minutes by seaplane from Malé, the resort will include 176 studios, beach villas and over water villas. With a house reef just steps from the beach, the resort provides great snorkeling and diving in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Mondrian Hong Kong – scheduled opening: June 2023

Boasting amazing harbor views and 324 spectacular rooms set over 40 floors, Mondrian Hong Kong is in the bustling Mong Kok district in Hong Kong’s vibrant Kowloon. With a nod to Hong Kong’s rich history and culture mixed with several clever design modern nuances, the rooms are inspired by the iconic Chinese paper lanterns. Make sure to dine at the 39th floor elevated dining experience at Carna by Dario Cecchini.

InterContinental Chiang Mai Mae Ping – scheduled opening: mid-2023

A contemporary escape in the heart of Chiang Mai’s historic district, InterContinental Chiang Mai Mae Ping will provide a sense of resort in the city. In its design, the contemporary escapebrings the stories of Chiang Mai’s artistic heritage to life and will offer travellers numerous ways to explore the bounty of the region. Featuring 240 elegant rooms and suites overlooking the charming alleyways of the old city or the jungle clad Doi Suthep mountain, the hotel will house five restaurants and bars and a manicured lawn which encloses Wat Chang Kong, a 600-year-old stupa nestled in the shadow of a centuries-old tree.

Banyan Tree Veya Vabbinfaru – scheduled opening: Q4 2023

From Banyan Tree Group’s brand extension Veya, this new resort in the Maldives features 48 thatched-roof pool villas. Situated on Kaafu Atoll, Maldives, guests who visit the island of Vabbinfaru start their journey with a private wellbeing consultation which will guide them on a restorative journey that enables the thriving of self, others and nature. Opening rates start at $1,100/night.

Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto, Japan – scheduled opening: Q4 2023

Located in the Gion and Higashiyama district, Banyan Tree Higashiyama Kyoto will open as a luxury, hilltop urban resort boasting spectacular views of Kyoto city. It will be the first international brand to offer guest rooms with a private onsen spring and a special onsen menu at the Banyan Tree Spa and be the first Kyoto city hotel with a Noh stage visible from its signature restaurant. Opening rates start at $1,000/night.

Four Seasons Hotel Dalian – scheduled opening: 2023

Four Seasons Hotel Dalian will be Four Season’s 10th China hotel, located in the redeveloped financial and commercial hub of the city. In partnership with Chinese real estate development company Luneng Group, the resort in the Liaodong Peninsula will include 250 guest rooms and suites within a brand-new mixed-use tower with views of the historic port and downtown core. The property will offer six on-site dining establishments including three restaurants, a bar, lobby lounge and a lovely pastry shop with an outdoor terrace.

Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou – scheduled opening: 2023

Surrounded by the landmark Jinji Lake in the central part of Suzhou Industrial Park, Jiangsu, China, Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou will be set on a nine-hectare private island. In partnership with Sun Hung Kai Properties (SHKP), the new property will be connected via a private bridge and offer 200 rooms, suites and oversized private villas. Surrounded by lush gardens, other amenities at the resort will include a premier Chinese restaurant (with seven lavish private dining rooms), indoor and outdoor pools, a 6,500 sq. ft. spa, lakeside jogging track and more.

Raffles Macau Hotel – scheduled opening:2023

The all-suite Raffles at Galaxy Macau will feature a stunning sky-high lobby located on the 2nd floor alongside a masterful collection of contemporary art pieces. The spectacular architectural landmark invites guests to one of their 450 signature suites each drawing inspiration from a modern palazzo. Whilst details on a specialty restaurant (rumored to be helmed by a multi-Michelin-starred Japanese chef) along with a luxury spa are under wraps, what is known is that the dedicated team of Raffles Butlers will create a personalized experience for each guest.

Six Senses Vana  – scheduled opening: 2023

Vana, the renowned wellness sanctuary in the foothills of the Himalayan Mountains, is being transformed into Six Senses’ second resort in India. Guests will be able to be fully immersed in the Himalayan foothills to go on a journey of self-discovery and transformation.

Six Senses Kanuhura – scheduled opening:2023

Six Senses’ second resort in the Maldives encompasses three private islands with 80 overwater and beach villas for couples and families. The untouched paradise is a 40-minute seaplane flight from the main international airport on Malé and beckons all to this laid-back and lush retreat.

SO/Maldives – scheduled opening: 2023

Nestled on its own exclusive island, overlooking the Emboodhoo Lagoon in the Maldives, SO/Maldives will comprise 80 beachfront and overwater villas. As the third resort at Crossroad Maldives, joining SAii Lagoon Maldives and Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, it is just 15 minutes by speedboat from Malé’s Velana International Airport. Guests will be able to relax on the private island as well as take advantage of The Marina @ Crossroads.

Australia

The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne– scheduled opening: Q1 2023

Set above the city skylines with the hotel’s sky lobby is located on the 80th floor, The Ritz-Carlton, Melbourne shines with elevated luxury. An expression of timeless and distinct luxury with breathtaking panoramic views across the city as it sits in Australia’s tallest hotel, 257 guest rooms and suites, including The Ritz-Carlton Suite feature stylish, residential-inspired décor and furnishings. The Ritz-Carlton Spa presents six treatment room, vitality pools and tranquil yoga space while the hotel’s signature restaurant will offer hyper-local cuisine.
