The Charities Aid Foundation has announced a list of more than 100 organisations that will receive a share of £20m of government funds to help them weather the coronavirus pandemic.

The funds are the second phase of the £40m Resilience Fund, which has already given out £19.2m to 645 organisations to help them through the Covid-19 outbreak.

In the second phase, a total of £20m has been allocated to 102 organisations to help them adapt and thrive post-pandemic, according to CAF.

It said organisations will receive between £50,000 and £350,000 for service delivery, core costs and resilience-building.

CAF declined to disclose the exact amount each organisation would receive, but said it would be no more than 30 per cent of their last filed annual income.

Advocacy Matters, which supports vulnerable adults and young people in Birmingham and Walsall, announced it received more than £146,000, while Autism Early Support said it was awarded slightly more than £70,000.

Organisations will also be able to apply for up to £20,000 to pay for external expertise to help achieve their resilience goals, CAF said.

The Resilience Fund focuses on organisations that serve the communities most affected by the pandemic, including charities that support people living with disability, black, Asian and minority ethnic communities, and young adults in need of reskilling.

Neil Heslop, chief executive of CAF, said: “Having battled through the pandemic, many charities are now taking stock and addressing how to rebuild their finances and services to move forward effectively.

“This unique and inspiring programme supports organisations to improve their resilience for the future, while ensuring they can continue to deliver services to some of society’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people.

“We are delighted to be able to help them grow stronger with generous funding from the insurance and long-term savings industry and the government’s match funding.”
