INBOUND Bold Talks: Sarah Cooper “How I Turned an Everyday Observation into Whole New Career”

What do you end up doing when you’re busy doing something else? For me, it was observing the things my coworkers did in meetings to “appear smart.” A few years later, those observations turned into a blog post that went viral around the world and became the subject of my first book. I ultimately ended up leaving my job at Google and starting my own brand based on these everyday observations. This talk is all about observations; how to find the humor in them, but also how to observe yourself in order to discover what it is you truly love doing.

Sarah Cooper is a writer, comedian and creator of satirical blog TheCooperReview.com, which attracts 200K+ pageviews per month. Her work has appeared on The Washington Post, Fast Company, Business Insider, and Huffington Post. Previously at Google, Sarah has over 15 years experience in the corporate world, leading to her first viral article, “10 Tricks to Appear Smart in Meetings” and the subject of her first book, 100 Tricks to Appear Smart in Meetings, to be published in Fall 2016. Sarah also speaks about adding humor to your writing, as well as performs standup comedy around San Francisco.
