Digital fundraising platform Donr streamlined the fundraising process, helping the global car rental company to achieve over half a million pounds in donations

Newcastle, 28th November, 2019: Employees from over 450 Enterprise Rent-A-Car UK branches have raised almost six hundred thousand pounds for Children In Need this year, thanks in part to the bespoke solution provided by digital fundraising platform Donr.

The partnership has seen Enterprise benefit massively from Donr’s provision of a bespoke donation management solution, helping them to streamline their fundraising and raise a fantastic total of £590,000 for the annual appeal.

“Text giving is a really important way for people to donate,” said Simon Caughey-Rogers, ERAC Team Pudsey Manager at Enterprise Rent-a-Car. “And the combination of text with online pages has been instrumental in creating the right fundraising tools for us to achieve a great target for Children in Need this year.”

Donr created a unique fundraising page and Text Giving keyword for all 459 branches of Enterprise Rent-a-Car UK, allowing each team to manage and track the fundraising efforts of their staff through a user-friendly dashboard. A leaderboard function was also developed for the company, to help promote friendly competition between regions and branches.

Enterprise had previously struggled to find a digital donation solution which allowed them to control and manage their fundraising efforts in a streamlined manner, leading them to seek out Donr in January of 2019.

“On top of that, the technical support that Donr were able to provide – so that we could clearly track all fundraising – was really important to the success of this year’s activities,” continued Caughey-Rogers. “Seeing how other branches are doing has inspired our staff to push themselves to raise more. We’ve had people running fundraising evenings, taking part in skydives, and volunteering to get a pie in the face – all in aid of a truly fantastic cause!”

Whilst Text Giving proved a fitting solution to catch a large number of smaller donations (up to £20) in the likes of events-based environments, the fundraising pages allowed supporters to give larger amounts via credit or debit card – proving beneficial to the four donors who opted to donate £5,000 at a time.

There really was a combination of donation technologies on offer, as the online pages also allowed donors to give via an online version of Text Giving, in instances where supporters were time constrained and not wanting to find their card to enter all of their details.

“We have to congratulate the Enterprise Rent-a-Car staff for raising a fantastic amount of money for Children in Need,” said Chris Newell, CEO of Donr.

“We’ve formed a close partnership with Enterprise Rent-a-Car, providing them with the best possible fundraising experience for Children in Need. And it has proved to be a success as we helped them to raise such an impressive amount.”

“We’re always innovating with the tools that we offer to fundraisers. We hope that what we’ve learnt from this project with Enterprise Rent-a-Car is something that we can offer to our charity partners in due course,” said Newell.

BBC Children in Need exists to change the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK and has raised over £1 billion since its first major Appeal in 1980. This year’s appeal show was on Friday November 15th, and so far, £47.9m has been raised.

Donr has recently launched a crowdfunding campaign – aiming to further disrupt and democratise the tech-for-good space. Donr’s platform and digital skills mean they level the playing field for charities of all sizes, helping them to maximise their impact on society.
