Could Kevin Hart Appear In Black Adam? Here’s What He And Dwayne Johnson Think

Movies

Ever since they first worked together on 2015’s Central Intelligence, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart have slowly been turning into a Hollywood performing duo powerhouse (and are having plenty of fun in the process). Their professional collaboration shows no sign of slowing down, but what are the chances that Hart could appear in one of Johnson’s most highly-anticipated films, Black Adam?

While nothing is set in stone just yet, such a prospect isn’t merely a pipe dream, as Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart have already started talking about how to include the latter in Black Adam. The actors said:

So assuming Dwayne Johnson can pull the right strings and Kevin Hart can find room in his schedule, it sounds like there’s a strong chance Black Adam could be added as another entry in their collaborative relationship, per their comments to ET Canada. How could Hart be involved? That’s hard to say right now, especially considering that no official plot details for Black Adam have been revealed yet, but Johnson is determined to make it happen.

This isn’t the first time the possibility of Kevin Hart showing up in Black Adam has come up. Last week, when Dwayne Johnson confirmed that the movie will introduce the Justice Society of America, he mentioned how Hart had lobbied to play Black Adam’s sidekick. Since such a role doesn’t exist, Johnson jokingly suggested Hart could play the JSA’s pet.

If I had to guess, I’d say Kevin Hart’s presence in Black Adam will be something similar to his Hobbs & Shaw cameo earlier this year, where he played Air Marshal Dinkley. In other words, Hart will pop up for a few minutes in Black Adam, but won’t have a huge part to play in the overall story. That said, since the plan is for Dinkley to hopefully participate in a Hobbs & Shaw sequel, along with those other cameoing characters, maybe there will be a way for Hart’s Black Adam character to return in a follow-up.

Dwayne Johnson has been attached to play Black Adam for over a decade, and he decided to stick with the role when the DC Extended Universe era unfolded. The original plan was to have Black Adam fight Shazam in the World’s Mightiest Mortal’s first movie, but then it was decided that Black Adam was an important enough character to introduce in his own cinematic tale. There’s still no word on when Johnson’s Black Adam and Zachary Levi’s Shazam will clash, though Levi suspects it won’t happen until Shazam! 3.

So far Dwayne Johnson is the only actor who’s been announced for Black Adam, but with a release date set, casting information will hopefully start trickling in early next year. Behind the scenes, Jaume Collet-Serra, who worked with Johnson on Jungle Cruise, is attached to direct, and Undateable’s Adam Stzykiel wrote the script.

As for Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, you can see them together next in Jumanji: The Next Level, which comes out on December 13.
