Together for Mental Wellbeing is the major charity that is relevant to the highest proportion of people, new figures show.
Data from Third Sector’s latest Charity Brand Index, which is produced with the research company Harris Interactive, shows that 72 per cent of people agreed that “this charity is relevant to me”.
The index is based on research conducted with a representative sample of 4,000 UK adults in April and May 2023.
All of the 150 charities on the list are assessed in a range of areas that contribute to the overall strength of their brand, including recognition, distinctiveness, familiarity and how willing people would be to donate to the organisation.
Cancer Research UK was second in the relevance rankings, while another mental health charity, Rethink Mental Illness, came third.
The World Cancer Research Fund was fourth on the relevance list, with the older people’s charity Independent Age rounding out the top five.
Together for Mental Wellbeing came 97th on the overall list, which was again topped by Cancer Research UK.
The full Charity Brand Index includes tables covering in-depth survey data on publicity, individual giving, recognition and trust, plus individual write-ups for all the top 150 charities.
