Shortlist for Third Sector Awards 2023 revealed

Charity

Bowel Cancer UK, Guide Dogs, the RNID and the Prison Radio Association are among the charities to have been shortlisted in this year’s Third Sector Awards.

The awards, which recognise the achievements of charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises, feature 33 categories covering sector excellence, partnerships and talent.

Sector leaders shortlisted for the hotly contested Charity Chief Executive award include Enver Solomon of the Refugee Council, Lindsay Boswell of FareShare and Hanuman Dass of the humanitarian NGO Go Dharmic.

Entries were judged by an independent panel of sector experts chaired by Nihara Krause, founder and chief executive of the teenage mental health charity Stem4, who won the Charity Chief Executive award at last year’s event.

Stem4, which supports the mental health of young people in secondary schools, colleges and universities through mental health literacy and early intervention, also took home the Charity of the Year award in the small organisation category last year.

The awards continue to include a scheme to spotlight the successes of small, micro, local and ethnic-minority-led charities by offering a batch of free-entry places to charities with an annual income of less than £100,000.

The full shortlist can be found here.

The winners will be revealed at a ceremony on 22 September at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in central London, hosted by the comedian Maisie Adam.
