Cancer charity appoints next chief executive

The cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better has appointed a new chief executive.

Mark Flannery, executive director of income generation at St Gemma’s Hospice, will take up his new role next month.

Before joining St Gemma’s he worked for the Skills Network, which provides advice and training.

He succeeds Sarahjane Robertson, who left Look Good Feel Better late last year after 20 years with the charity.

Robertson said at the time that she was looking forward to “taking a breather” before looking at other professional opportunities.

Look Good Feel Better provides wellbeing support to people living with cancer through in-person and online courses.

The charity’s income was about £1.6m in the year ending in December 2020, down from more than £2m in each of the preceding three years, according to the latest filings with the Charity Commission.

Flannery said: “I am honoured to have this opportunity to lead Look Good Feel Better into the next chapter.

“I am impressed by the hard work and commitment of the team to ensure they provide the much-needed services to all people going through cancer treatment and I cannot wait to get started.”
