Singapore-based DM Interior Design has snagged two prestigious awards conferred by the Luxury Lifestyle Awards (LLA): Best Luxury Interior Design Studio in Singapore and Best Luxury Commercial Interior Design for ‘Pop Futurism Karaoke Club’ in Singapore. The experts at LLA were amazed by the design team’s execution and ability to seamlessly integrate elements of luxury into their projects.
To achieve such an illustrious award, the team at DM Interior Design has taken the approach of fully comprehending a client’s brief before offering their recommendations. They take the initiative to understand what the client wants and translate them to the best of their abilities. The core of any good interior design is the engagement the end-user has with the space. And this design team is great at melding these two factors: client’s vision and user experience.
Successfully bridging the gap between the two factors has enabled DM Interior Design to boast a plethora of stunning portfolio projects that include luxury custom homes and distinguished commercial venues. Along with that, the team is also open to ideas and possesses a proactive attitude when it comes to tackling briefs.
The judges at LLA took fancy of the design studio’s work on the project called “Pop Futurism Karaoke Club”. The brief from the client was to create a singing space that is avant-garde and pop culture inspired and able to appeal to both young and seasoned singers. Understanding the needs of the client, the design team sprung into action and outlined a concept. That involved expertly using lighting to project individuality and dynamics in a darkened environment. Adding to the visual elements, DM Interior Design also incorporated cameras, audiovisual and multimedia screens. Together, an immersive experience is created for customers to fully enjoy their time at the karaoke club.
The company was founded in 2016 by Wang Linfeng, a graduate of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and he is joined by a lean team consisting of three other designers, an admin department and a project manager. Despite being a small company, it has experienced rapid growth and scooped several key projects. This includes designing for a luxury car showroom, conceptualising multiple offices and homes. Another notable project is the Palace project, which utilised top-notch materials to build a home that’s fit for a king. Luxurious fabrics, marble flooring and ceiling, bronze and exotic woods were staples for the project.
