TV and broadband company Liberty Global has been named Business of the Year at Third Sector’s Business Charity Awards 2021.
The company was recognised for its work through Lessons for Life, a charity its former chief strategy officer founded, which it backed and subsequently merged with the NGO Street Child, to support the education of children in Africa.
Other winners in this year’s awards, which recognise the outstanding support given by businesses to UK charities and voluntary organisations, include the professional services firm Deloitte, which won CSR Team of the Year, and Nathan Moore of the Andrews Property Group, who was named Outstanding Employee.
The retailer Marks & Spencer’s 20-year partnership with Breast Cancer Now won the Long-term Partnership award, while the Short-term Partnership award was won by the towel retailer Dock & Bay for its work with Whale and Dolphin Conservation to reduce plastic waste.
Barclays took home the Employee Engagement Initiative of the Year for its Make a Difference virtual event, which aims to bring staff together to make a positive impact in their communities.

The insurance company Ansvar was the headline sponsor for this year’s awards.
