Barclays, Marks & Spencer and Deliveroo are among the companies shortlisted for this year’s Business Charity Awards.

The awards, run by Third Sector, recognise the outstanding support given by businesses to UK charities and voluntary organisations.

More than 80 companies have made this year’s list across 25 categories.

Barclays has been shortlisted in the Long-term Partnership category for its work with Pilotlight. Over the course of a 12-year partnership more than 500 Barclays colleagues have supported over 160 charities that are addressing some tough social issues in the UK.

KPMG has been shortlisted in the Professional Services category for its partnership with NSPCC after raising £1.2m for the charity’s Schools Service and Childline.

And Deliveroo and Calpol have been shortlisted for 2021’s special Covid-19 charity partnership, also with NSPCC.

During the first national lockdown, Deliveroo riders used their role as key workers out in the community and took NSPCC’s ‘It’s Your Call’ training to help them spot signs of abuse and neglect, and know what to do if they were worried.

“It has been an extraordinary year for charity partnerships and huge congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted,” said Emily Burt, editor of Third Sector.

“These organisations set incredible examples of how collaboration can help to change the world for the better.”

With social distancing measures still due to be in place before the summer, the 2021 awards ceremony will take place virtually over two days, at 4:30pm on 18 and 19 May.
