The chair of the Small Charities Coalition has stepped down for personal reasons after 18 months in the role, it has emerged.
Bushra Ahmed stepped down on 16 September, according to Companies House, having taken up the role in January last year.
The charity said Steven Kirkpatrick, who has been an SCC trustee since October 2016, had been appointed chair for a two-year term.
Ahmed, who is also a trustee at the Sheila McKechnie Foundation, said on Twitter earlier this month: “Please note that I’m no longer the chair or a trustee at @sccoalition since mid-September.
“I had updated all my social media to reflect this from that time and have asked for this web page to be updated by the charity.”
Ahmed has been removed from the SCC website in the past few days.
Rita Chadha, chief executive of the SCC, told Third Sector that Ahmed had stepped down due to personal reasons and that Kirkpatrick had become chair.
