Where To Watch X-Men: The Animated Series Online | Screen Rant

X-Men: The Animated Series remains the most beloved animated take on Marvel’s mutants, and here’s where it can be found to stream online. The 1990s played host to lots of great options for fans of superhero animation, with Batman: The Animated Series, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, and X-Men: The Animated Series. Crazily, all three shows aired at the same time on the same network for several years, making FOX Kids the clear choice for both DC and Marvel cartoon fans.

X-Men: The Animated Series premiered in October 1992, and ran for five seasons, signing off in September 1997. The show became well-known both for its instantly memorable high-energy theme song and its excellent adaptations of many popular Marvel Comics arcs. Much of X-Men: The Animated Series was original stories starring Marvel’s mutants, but readers raved over adaptations of arcs like Days of Future Past and The Dark Phoenix Saga. Similarly to Batman: The Animated Series, X-Men: TAS also remains a fun watch as an adult, long after one has exited the show’s target demographic.

Speaking of which, in the age of streaming there’s an easy, legal way to watch just about everything one might want to, and X-Men: The Animated Series is certainly no exception. But is it on the major services like Netflix, Amazon Prime or Hulu?

Is X-Men: The Animated Series On Netflix, Prime, or Hulu? Where To Watch Online

X-Men Animated Series Disney Plus

Sadly for millions of subscribers to the big three streaming services, X-Men: The Animated Series isn’t available on Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu. However, there is another popular service on which it can be found, and the price is pretty cheap. All five seasons of X-Men: The Animated Series are currently available to stream on Disney+ for only $6.99 per month, or $69.99 per year. That won’t please anyone who’s not interested in subscribing to Disney+, but in the modern streaming landscape, every company is creating their own service, and locking down their own exclusive original and library content.

Why is X-Men: The Animated Series on Disney+, when the show never had any association with Disney? That’s due to the 2019 Disney/Fox deal, which saw Disney purchase Fox’s movie and TV assets for billions of dollars. U.S. subscribers thirsty for more X-Men content on Disney+ will be pleased to know that X-Men (2000), X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, and The Wolverine are all coming between July and September. One assumes after existing deals run out, the entire library of past X-Men movies and shows will make their way to Disney+, standing alongside Marvel Cinematic Universe offerings.
