British Brand Geckota Reveals their New W-02 Vintage Military Chronograph

Luxury

Geckota has added to its W-02 range with a striking new military chronograph, blending the finest traditions of watch-making with an up-to-date look that is suitable for any occasion.

The new military chronograph follows in the footsteps of the W-02 vintage chronograph, introduced last year as one of the highlights of the Geckota family.

This latest release takes inspiration from the classic military chronographs from the 1950s and 1960s, an essential companion in the field for serving military. As a result, this collection features striking vintage lume paint and even a telemeter scale (historically used as an artillery range finder, calculating the distance between the wearer and an event that is seen and heard by using the speed of sound).

While we hope that none of our customers will have cause to be working out exactly how far they are from an explosion these days, the new chronograph is both hard-wearing and practical, while maintaining all the class expected from this iconic design.

The Geckota W-02 features the Seagull ST19 hand-wound mechanical chronograph movement and offers a power reserve of around 42 hours, with a crystal clear case back to see the movement at work. True to the era it evokes, the stainless steel case diameter is 37mm, making it easy to wear for any occasion.

The military chronograph features either black or contrasting white subdials with a genuine leather handmade strap, making it a stunning addition to any watch collection.

The vintage-inspired hands provide a perfect contrast against the black matte dial for perfect legibility: another legacy of its military inspiration.

Most of all, it embodies Geckota’s philosophy of providing a quality watch from a British company, at an affordable price.

Jon Quinn, Geckota managing director, said: “We’re very proud of our military chronograph, as it’s something we’ve wanted to do for a while. By definition, military watches have to provide the ultimate in reliability and precision, and I believe this is what we’ve managed to achieve with our latest W-02. With a choice of subdials and straps, this watch offers two distinct looks, blending contemporary usability with classic style.”
