The Bristol-based charity St Peter’s Hospice has launched a partnership with John Lewis to open a pop-up shop in the department store’s branch at the Cribbs Causeway shopping centre.
The shop, which will be open from 12 to 29 March, will sell premium second-hand ladies garments from brands such as Hobbs, Fat Face, Phase Eight and Whistles, and will host fundraising events with guest bands at the weekends.
The retailer has offered the space to the charity free of charge.
If the pop-up is successful, John Lewis will roll out similar partnerships across the country.
The hospice is Bristol’s largest charity retailer, with 51 shops in the area, raising more than £2.5m a year.
John Lewis will also host an event for the hospice’s nurses, offering them an evening of pampering, Prosecco, styling and services from the nail and beauty bars in the store.
There will also be a VIP evening fashion show for hospice supporters and a thank-you event for hospice volunteers.
Jayne Clarke, director of income generation at St Peter’s Hospice, said: “For us, the opportunity to create a pop-up shop in the heart of a John Lewis store is a wonderful opportunity and that, alongside hosting our own evening events and fundraising activities in its store, means that this is a true partnership in every way.
“We look forward to showcasing St Peter’s Hospice shops to this new audience and showing them the benefits of charity shopping”.
Alan Andrews, partner and community liaison coordinator at John Lewis Cribbs Causeway, said the store was “passionate” about being involved in the local community.
“We’ve strong connections with many local charities, but are particularly excited about our collaboration with St Peter’s Hospice because many of our customers and partners have been touched by its outstanding work,” he said.
