Greek chef Asimakis Chaniotis and restaurateur David Moore have announced the launch of London’s latest chef’s table experience this March.

The experience seats up to 8 guests and is available for full private hire or individual bookings at £165pp. The Chef’s Table by Asimakis takes place above acclaimed Michelin-starred restaurant Pied à Terre on Charlotte Street, where Asimakis is Executive Chef.

Asimakis will be serving up a tasting menu as part of the experience, inspired both by the fine-dining French cuisine for which Pied à Terre is renowned, as well as his Greek roots. Each event is entirely unique and, depending on produce and season, can be up to 22 courses. Born and brought up in Greece, Asimakis moved to London in 2011 and joined esteemed restaurateur, David Moore, at Pied à Terre in 2012.

The Chef’s Table menu will reflect the chef’s experiences and deep understanding of both Mediterranean cooking and French haute cuisine, with dishes such as Trout Mousse with Mango & Nage Jelly, Cucumber, Burned Lemon, Royal Oscietra Caviar & Lobster oil; and Smoked Quail with Celeriac, Winter Truffles, Piedmont Hazelnuts & Confit Egg Yolk.

An 800-bin wine menu will complement the tasting menu and guests can opt for a Master Sommelier’s Wine Pairing at £95pp.

The wine list has a heavy French influence but also showcases wines from all over the world.

Volcanic wines from Hungary currently have a strong presence on the wine list on account of their high acidity levels and complex aromas – the perfect accompaniment to Asimakis’ cooking.

The interior from Martin Moore Design breaks away from the typical chef’s table aesthetic and creates a ‘home from home’ feel. A state of the art vinyl player is on show for guests to select their own music for the evening.

Two large windows overlooking Charlotte Street make for a room with an abundance of light, an elegant and intimate space that feels simultaneously cosmopolitan and homely.

Commenting on the upcoming launch, Owner, David Moore said: “We’re so excited to be opening The Chef’s Table by Asimakis. It’s an experience like no other that exists in London today. Guests can come and enjoy Asimakis’ truly sensational food but can also enjoy the space, and have it all to themselves if they wish. We wanted the space to feel like you were stepping into a friend’s kitchen, a place where you can have a glass of wine, choose your music and relax, but with the added benefit of a Michelin-starred chef and restaurant team looking after you.”
