Red Dead Redemption 2 Just Got An Unexpected New Release

Released for the first time back in 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 has cemented itself as a modern-day classic. Praised for its outstanding narrative, exciting gameplay, immersive setting, and level of detail, it is often regarded as Rockstar Games’ magnum opus (ahead of the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI later this year at least). Available to play on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox, Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently the fourth-best-selling video game of all time, racking up an impressive 82 million copies sold.

So, what could make this modern-day classic even better? Well, arriving on yet another platform may just help, and that is now possible thanks to one ambitious YouTuber.

Red Dead Redemption 2 On A Mobile Is Wild

Courtesy of RGB Tech Official on YouTube, we can see now what a mobile port for Red Dead Redemption 2 could look like, and there is no denying that its stunning setting looks just as beautiful on a mobile device. However, with no official mobile port for the Rockstar hit, you will need to jump through a few hoops to make it work. In a video shared to RGB Tech Official’s YouTube channel, we can see all the steps needed to run Red Dead Redemption 2 on mobile. Using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 4 Android and the best optimized driver settings, the Gamehub PC Emulator v5.3.5L with the latest Turnip versions will be able to run the game in its smoothest iteration yet.

However, there is no denying that there will be a lot of set-up if you wish to run Red Dead Redemption 2 on mobile for yourself, as the video demonstrates. This includes setting up the emulator, downloading RDR2′s PC files, installing components, adjusting settings and custom drivers, and then, finally getting to play the game.

Put simply, it would be a lot easier to just play Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC or console at this stage, but there is no denying that the technology is definitely capable if you are willing to put in the work. It may even convince Rockstar to work on an official mobile port.

Where Is Red Dead Redemption 2’s Next-Gen Update?

At the time of writing, there has been no official confirmation of the next-gen port for Red Dead Redemption 2. However, with rereleases for modern consoles being a standard part of Rockstar’s docket, there is no denying that it will be on the horizon. That being said, according to one insider, this may not be until at least late 2027. After all, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still less than a decade old, and you only need to look at it to see that a next-gen update is not a priority, especially with Rockstar being hard at work on adding the finishing touches to Grand Theft Auto VI ahead of its launch this November. In the meantime, why not try checking out Red Dead Redemption 2 on mobile? That is, if you have the patience.
