Little Dragon’s Yukimi Announces Debut Solo Album, Shares New Songs: Listen

Yukimi, the vocalist and co-founder of Swedish group Little Dragon, has announced her first-ever solo album. For You is out March 28 via Ninja Tune. Today, Yukimi has shared two news songs from the project: “Sad Makeup” and “Winter Is Not Dead.” Check those out below.

“I want this music to really be a force to connect people to each other, and step away from the madness of everything on the planet right now,” Yukimi said of For You in a press release. “I’m excited about embarking on that journey on my own—the expression really feels pure.”

Yukimi previewed For You last year with “Break Me Down,” a single that she co-wrote with Erik Bodin and Lianne La Havas. Bodin recorded drums, bass, and keys on the track, while La Havas contributed guitar.

La Havas also appears on the new album’s “Steam of Consciousness,” while De La Soul rapper Posdnuos shows up on “Jaxon,” and Yusuke Nagano features on “Feels Good to Cry.” For You draws upon a number of musical styles including jazz, soul, psychedelia, electropop, and more.

Little Dragon released their self-titled debut in 2007. They released their seventh and most recent studio album, Slugs of Love, in July 2023.
