Is Taylor Swift Going to the Paris Olympics? Everything We Know

Style

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics is tomorrow, July 26, one day before Taylor Swift takes the stage at her Eras Tour in Munich, Germany. While the singer hasn’t shared any plans to attend the Games (nor is she among the artists rumored to be performing during the ceremony), she is close enough that she could make one or multiple surprise appearances during her tour breaks, if she wants.

Here’s a breakdown of when she could go.

Will Swift be able to attend the opening and/or closing ceremony of the Olympics?

The Olympics run from July 26 to August 11, and Swift will be on the European leg of her tour through August 20. Swift has breaks in her schedule from July 29 to 31 and from August 4 to 7. She is also free on August 11, the last day of the Olympics, so she could theoretically attend the closing ceremony. She plays in Vienna the night before.

In terms of opening ceremony attendance, Swift does have the day off and could be there, too. She hasn’t been seen out since she finished her Hamburg, Germany show on July 24. Given that she is performing in Munich on Saturday, it also wouldn’t be surprising if Swift spent the day out of the public eye, enjoying her break.

Coluld Swift watch gymnast Simone Biles compete (likely to her music)?

There’s a big opportunity for Swift to be a supportive fan at the Olympics, as U.S. gymnast Simone Biles did a floor routine to her music at the Olympics trials. Biles could bring back the routine during the Games.

The women’s individual floor exercise final is on August 5, a day Swift has off. The singer could fly to Paris from Warsaw, where she wraps shows on August 3, to watch Biles compete. (It is just a 2-hour flight.)

In terms of other gymnastics events, Swift could also see the women’s team final on July 30. She has her first Warsaw show on August 1, making her less likely to attend the women’s all-around final that day.

Swift gave Biles her support after footage of the athlete’s trial performance to an instrumental version of “…Ready For It?” and Beyoncé and Travis Scott’s “Delresto (Echoes)” went viral. “Watched this so many times and still unready,” Swift tweeted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “She’s ready for it tho 👏🥇🇺🇸❤️”

Biles spoke about the song selection for the routine, saying, “Everybody kind of wanted something different—choreographer, as well as music. I actually hate learning a new floor routine, that’s the worst part for me. So, I just kind of let everybody pick whatever they wanted. Actually, my agent suggested Taylor Swift [and] then I found this Beyoncé song that I really liked and we kind of collabed it together. I do love Taylor Swift and I do love Beyoncé. … Those are my girls!”
