Corporate abuse prevention charity appoints next chief

A charity that works to prevent corporate abuse of human rights and the environment has appointed a new chief executive.

Eleanor Rosenbach will take up the role at the Corporate Justice Coalition on Tuesday (7 May) after three years as communications and advocacy manager at the Right to Education Initiative.

She succeed Nick Dearn, who has joined the International Transport Workers’ Federation after four years at the CJC.

Before joining RTE, Rosenbach worked with NGOs in the UK and Latin America, including the International Organization for Migration, Médicine Sans Frontières, and the Centre for Justice and International Law.

Rosenbach said the CJC had “continually achieved impressive impact”.

She said: “In this era of perma-crisis, rising inequality and growing corporate power, collaborative efforts are our most powerful means of achieving justice and accountability.

“I am looking forward to working with the board, my colleagues and dedicated partners from across civil society to ensure corporations are held accountable for violating human rights and environmental standards.”

Elaine Gilligan, chair of CJC, said Rosenbach’s “passion for justice and career dedicated to change makes her the ideal leader to advance our mission to protect rights and end corporate abuse”.
