A veteran’s charity has completed its sale of more than 150 flats for £80m to Chelsea Football Club.

The Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation, more commonly known as Stoll, announced the sale of properties at its Sir Oswald Stoll Mansions housing site this week.

Stoll trustees agreed a deal in principle to sell 157 flats housing military veterans last October, with the charity retaining 20 properties.

The charity said it is now able to offer every resident new accommodation with Stoll, in either its new properties or its existing sites, as part of its “long-standing commitment to rehouse all [its] residents”.

The charity also shared that it is concluding a deal with St William Homes to purchase 128 “affordable housing properties” in a new housing development in King’s Road Park, Fulham.

William Campbell-Wroe, chief executive of Stoll, said the sale to Chelsea FC marks a “transformational moment” for the charity.

He said: “We understand that any transition to a new home will be challenging for many of our residents, and we are committed to providing every resident with an enhanced programme of financial, wellbeing and rehousing support – as we have been throughout this process.

“The properties at King’s Road Park will provide a higher standard of living along with being more comfortable, sustainable and energy-efficient.”

Campbell-Wroe added that residents who choose to move somewhere other than a Stoll property will receive 12 months of support, including helping them to find a new home.

“Those that move to another Stoll property will remain on the same tenancy they are on now and will continue to receive the same level of support that we have always provided,” said Campbell-Wroe.

“To be clear, no veteran at the Sir Oswald Stoll Mansions will be left without a home.”
