Someone Tell Limp Bizkit: 7-Eleven Introducing Hot Dog Flavored Sparkling Water

Music

Get your chocolate starfish ready: 7-Eleven is rollin’ out a new hot dog flavored sparkling water beverage. Apparently there’s no affiliation with nu-metal pioneers Limp Bizkit, who famously released the multiplatinum 2000 album Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water.

“7-Select Big Bite Hot Dog Sparkling Water” is launching as part of a new line of sparkling beverages created in collaboration with art-inspired brand Miracle Seltzer. Other flavors include Lemon Lime, Green Apple, Sweet Orange, but it’s the Big Bite Hot Dog flavor — inspired by 7-Eleven’s famous roller dog — that has our inner nu-metal kid salivating.

“The Big Bite Hot Dog Sparkling Water combines the delicious and mouthwatering experience of 7-Eleven’s iconic Big Bite Hot Dog into one refreshing beverage — ketchup and mustard included,” reads 7-Eleven’s official description. “Gone are the days of alternating bites of a hot dog with sips of a beverage, now those on the go can swap the bun for bubbles.”

The innovators of the Big Gulp went as far as to call the hot dog water “a daring flavor that pushes the boundaries of flavor innovation.” We’ll also reiterate, the beverage doesn’t appear to be affiliated with Limp Bizkit and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (though there was surely some inspiration there).

“7-Eleven is constantly in pursuit of innovative, unique experiences for our customers, and the 7-Select x Miracle Seltzer lineup is sure to delight even the most adventurous of palates,” said 7-Eleven exec Marissa Jarratt in the press release. “We’re excited for customers to embark on this flavor adventure and experience their favorite snack in a whole new form.”

More details on the specific availability of the hot dog flavored sparkling water will be released next Monday (April 1st), when the rest of the sparkling beverage line hits 7-Eleven stores across the country. Everything seems pretty official about the announcement, so if this is an elaborate April Fools’ joke, 7-Eleven is setting it up well in advance.

And if it is indeed a real drink, the hot dog water would be available in time for Limp Bizkit’s upcoming North American tour. The outing, which features support from Corey Feldman and more, kicks off in mid July. Pick up tickets here.
