Genesis Owusu Is a “Survivor” on New Song: Stream

Music

CoSign alum Genesis Owusu is back with a new banger titled “Survivor,” now included as an additional track to his sophomore album, STRUGGLER.

Over a thundering beat recalling Kanye West’s Yeezus era, Owusu raps about taking on adversity. “I was never one to run/ But I better take my place,” he spits. “There’s a feeling I can’t shake/ The smoke is getting dark/ I already felt the blaze.”

The Lisa Reihana-directed music video is just as fiery as Owusu’s lyrics, taking place in a post-apocalyptic universe where the Ghanaian-Australian artist takes command. Watch it below.

“THE STORY NEVER ENDS, THE ROACH KEEPS ROACHING,” Owusu said in a press statement about the track. “THROUGH SPACE, TIME, FIRE & BRIMSTONE.”

Owusu is set to close out 2023 with a brief run of Australia. He will be supported by special guest EARTHGANG. Get your tickets here.
