Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People has promoted Jane Burns to chief executive.
Burns, who joined the charity in 2019 as director of supporter relations, succeeds Dee Sissons, who has retired after five years in the role.
Before joining Rainbows, which supports families in the east midlands, Burns held senior roles at charities including YMCA England, the MND Association and Help the Aged.
She said the charity had “an incredible team of staff and volunteers who make so much happen”.
“I care deeply about the work Rainbows does and the difference we make to the lives of so many families,” said Burns.
“We are committed to making sure that children who are at the end of their lives get to live while they are dying.
“And the children who come to us for respite get to be children and make treasured memories. I am really invested in that.”
Paul Stothard, chair of Rainbows, said: “To have Jane as our new chief executive will be an absolute credit to our charity.
“She has a wealth of experience, which will enhance the service we provide to babies, children, young people and their families. We are delighted to have her leading Rainbows.”
