Tributes have been paid to the prominent fundraiser Mandi Hine-Conway, who has died at the age of 39.

Hine-Conway, who was a community manager at the training and support organisation Fundraising Everywhere, died on 9 September after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was a member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s West Midlands Committee, was on the board of the CIOF’s annual convention and its EDI committee. She was also part of the campaigning group Charity So Straight.

Before joining Fundraising Everywhere, Hine-Conway worked as fundraiser lead at Adoption Focus and earlier worked for organisations including the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and the retirement housing and care provider Housing 21.

Hine-Conway, who took a break from Fundraising Everywhere after receiving her cancer diagnosis in March, married her long-term partner in August.

A message board of memories and thanks will be shared with her family next week.

Nikki Bell, co-founder of Fundraising Everywhere, said: “It’s absolutely devastating to lose someone so young and the grief we feel as a team and fundraising committee shows just how much Mandi meant to us all.

“She genuinely cared about charities and fundraisers, and it was an honour to watch her grow in confidence and light in all of the work she did.

“Thank you to everyone who has been in touch to share their thoughts. It’s times like this that remind us of the strength of community in our sector; something Mandi was so passionate about leading.”

Hine-Conway is survived by her husband, mother, sister and brother.
