Sunreef Launches Second 80 Eco

Luxury

Sunreef Yachts has launched the second all-electric Sunreef 80 Eco sailing catamaran, following the launch of Marie-Joseph early last year and the model’s world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival last September.

In contrast to the dark blue hull on Marie-Joseph, the second unit has a light green hull dominated by Sunreef’s dark ‘solar skin’ and hull windows, while its white superstructure features the ultralight composite-integrated solar panels on the sides and flybridge hard top. Unlike Marie-Joseph, the latest launch doesn’t have solar panels around the mast.

While under sail, the Sunreef 80 Eco recovers energy from the passive motion of the two propellers through an advanced hydrogeneration system. As with the solar panels, the energy obtained is used to power both the hotel appliances and electric propulsion for silent, fuel-free cruising.

Below the main deck, the battery bank consists of custom-engineered batteries combining light weight with outstanding efficiency, while Sunreef describes the 80 Eco’s air-conditioning as the lightest and most efficient in the marine industry.

The aft cockpit offers a full-beam relaxation space with a large daybed, dining table and swim platform, while the flybridge boasts large lounging areas, a jacuzzi, big sunpads and a wet bar.

On the main deck, the saloon offers lots of lounging and dining space with two oversized settees and a table midships, as well as a bar with piano and pop-up TV. Forward is a fully-equipped galley with plenty of storage options and restaurant-quality amenities.

The yacht can accommodate up to 12 guests. The starboard hull houses an opulent, light-filled master suite with double bed, pop-up TV, sofa and vanity desk. The generous en-suite bathroom follows the contemporary style of the master stateroom.

The custom layout also includes a large midships cabin in the middle of the port hull, as well as mirror guest cabins in the forward and aft end of each hull.
