Charity Commission staff members have voted to take part in a day of strike action, it has been announced.
Public and Commercial Services Union members who work at the Charity Commission will strike on 1 February, alongside employees across government, over pay and employment conditions.
According to PCS, 131 Charity Commission employees voted in support of the strike, while four voted against.
This is equivalent to 97 per cent in favour of industrial action. A total of 245 people were eligible to take part in the ballot.
The strike is set to involve 100,000 PCS members across 124 government departments and bodies.
Mark Serwotka, PCS general secretary, said: “Our hard-working members at the Charity Commission should be better rewarded and better appreciated for the important work they do.”
Nick Baker, chief operating officer at the Charity Commission, said: “As the public and charities would expect, we are making plans to keep essential services running and minimise any potential disruption.”
