Chubby and the Gang have shared a new song called “Violent Night (A Christmas Tale),” the front half of their forthcoming double-A-side single Chubby and the Gang Presents: A Christmas. The single—which also includes the song “Red Rag to a Bull”—is due out December 14 via Partisan. Check out “Violent Night (A Christmas Tale)” and the single’s album art below.

Of the single, Chubby frontman Charlie Manning-Walker said in a statement: “I wrote this Xmas song sitting in my van freezing cold waiting to start work during the holidays. Because I’m tired of hearing the same four songs on repeat over the season.” The band will celebrate the single’s release at a December 15 show at the Lower Third in London, where they will debut a new lineup behind Manning-Walker that includes Will Goodey (guitar), Geoff Wilcox (bass), and Lee Munday (drums).

Earlier this year, Chubby and the Gang released the EP Labour of Love, sharing the single “Who Loves Ya (Coup d’Etat)” on Valentine’s Day. The band’s 2022 tour—which included a scheduled appearance at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago—was cut short due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The released the LP The Mutt’s Nutts in September 2021.
