The company behind the fundraising platform JustGiving recorded an operational profit of just under £19m last year, its annual accounts show.
The figures for Giving.com Ltd, which trades as JustGiving, show that its profits in the year ending in December 2021 were slightly lower than in 2020, when the firm made £19.1m.
JustGiving makes its money through membership fees from some charities using its platform and the option for donors to contribute to the cost of the platform.
Giving.com Ltd paid £22m in dividends to shareholders last year, up from £8m in 2020, according to accounts published today with Companies House.
The US-based charity software firm Blackbaud paid £95m to take over JustGiving in 2017.
Turnover at Giving.com Ltd was £47.4m last year, a small rise from £46.3m in 2020.
Nearly all of its turnover was generated in the UK, although about £4m was made in Ireland and the United States, and another £1m elsewhere in the world, the accounts show.
The company’s accounts say that it has benefited from new partnerships last year with streaming sites like YouTune and Twitch and the tech brand FitBit.
JustGiving says that it has helped charities raise more than £5bn since 2000.
Profits at Giving.com Ltd doubled between 2018 and 2019.
