The hotel’s recently renovated Presidential Suites and Royal Suite with a rooftop terrace and bulletproof glass offer the most luxurious apartment-style accommodations in Washington, DC.“With the Hotel so closely situated near the Potomac River, the creative inspiration derived from the ‘Nation’s River’ was core to the design of the functional space,” says Liana Hawes Young, Senior Associate and Creative Director of Wimberly Interiors. “Drawing upon the lush gardens and green spaces that line the riverbanks, we brightened the space using a pearlised bright cream with complementary accents of warm gray and pale blue.’

Opened in 1997, 18 years after the hotel, The Spa features is one of the top private fitness clubs and spas in DC. Featuring eight treatment rooms and decorated with birch and cherry woods, relax and recover with a full range of healing massages, body treatments, facial treatments and more. One of their unique offerings is the Ultimate Luxury Facial, a favorite amongst the Spa’s local Georgetown clientele.

The hotel also offers membership to its 12,500 sq. ft. Fitness Club, where members are able to enjoy unlimited access to three levels of professional sports facilities including a lap pool, whirlpool, state-of-the-art gym, sauna and steam room. Private weight training and yoga classes are available as well as a full range of off-site activities which can be arranged by staff.

The hotel is also a culinary destination in the city thanks to Michelin-starred chef Michael Mina’s concept of Bourbon Steak. Presenting contemporary American fare with a focus on seasonal ingredients, guests can enjoy indoor or outdoor seating and some of the signature dishes which include their Wagyu Beef and lobster pot pie. Located in the lower lobby level overlooking the C&O Canal, Seasons is known for its ‘power breakfast’ in their bright and airy restaurant presenting a healthy twist on international dishes like its Avocado Toast or Shakshuka. Guests can also imbibe at The Lounge atBourbon Steak with classic20th century cocktails from the cocktail cart or a creative selection from lead bartender, Engidawork Alebachew.

True to its name, the hotel recently announced their new spring programming which celebrates Sakura Blossom Spring. Celebrating “Haru Matsuri”, the annual spring festival in Japan that signifies a new beginning, the hotel will be transformed where the character of Haru Matsuri is reflected in a unique way. During the Cherry Blossom Festival March 20th to April 17th 2022 when the city comes alive against a backdrop of soft pink, the “craftsmanship of our team: our Chef’s, bartenders, concierge, housekeepers, spa technicians and so many more [are commemorating] new beginnings at Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC inspired by the natural beauty of our city,” says Regional Vice President and General Manager Marc Bromley.

At Bourbon Steak, Executive Chef Robert Curtis prepares a trio of tender Wagyu beef (Sanuki, Chateau Uenae or Miyazaki Wagyu beef) paired with a trio of Japanese Whiskies (Akashi Single Malt Whisky, Ichiro’s Malt & Grain and Nikka Miyagikyo Single Malt) for the perfect complement and one-of-a-kind dinner. 

At “The Spa” two new treatments, The Green Zen Ritual Stimulates and The Cherry Blossom Facial are presented to guests to welcome the new season. And after experiencing one of these restorative treatments, check out the Spring collection at The Spa Boutique where designer Ron David unveils one of a kind pieces hand-picked for the Four Seasons guest.

Curated by DTR Modern Gallery, the artistry of Tokyo based Campbell La Pun will be on display throughout the hotel with an evolving collection of pieces from his evocative Sakura series being shown. The colorful works of the famed stencil pop artist will be on display for the duration of Sakura Blossom Spring.

Available at the Bourbon Steak Bar, lead bartender Alebachew has created two distinct cocktails The UPS ONLY and The KINTSUGI, both with Japanese alcohol as its base and citrus flavors to mirror the freshness of the season.
