Meghan Markle was photographed out for the first time in months, giving a very rare glimpse of her casual, off-duty style while out at dinner in Santa Barbara with her husband Prince Harry, cousin-in-law Princess Eugenie, and Eugenie’s husband Jack Brooksbank. The couples had a double date at a beachfront restaurant Saturday, sitting outdoors and oceanfront. Meghan was in a pantsuit with a blazer draped over her shoulder; she carried a red handbag. You can see more photos of their dinner here, with the group laughing at their table.
Here’s the best look at Meghan’s outfit from the night:
Meghan’s last big public appearance was in November, when she attended the Intrepid Museum’s gala with Prince Harry. She wore a stunning red gown then:
Meghan and Harry have long been close to Eugenie and Brooksbank. Eugenie was one of the first people to find out Harry was dating Meghan, royal reporters Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand revealed in Finding Freedom in 2020. Meghan and Harry secretly attended an October 2016 Halloween party in Toronto with the couple. At that point, Meghan and Harry had “already been out on two double dates with them,” the authors wrote.
“Eugenie had always been more than just a cousin to Harry,” they added. “They were also the closest of friends. Out of all the Queen’s grand-children, Harry and Eugenie have one of the most natural connections. Like Harry, Eugenie is loyal, honest, and great fun. The two had many nights out together in London.”
“Harry had always confided in his cousin when it came to the women in his life,” they continued. “Not only did he trust her implicitly, but friends say that she gives great advice and has always been ‘beyond wise’ for her years.” Eugenie liked Meghan. “[She] told friends she loved Meghan and that she was ‘just the tonic’ for him [Harry],” Scobie and Durand wrote.
