In this episode of the Third Sector Podcast, features and analysis writer Rebecca Cooney and news editor Andy Ricketts chat about what the Community Life Survey revealed about how volunteering changed during the pandemic.
The Community Life Survey is an annual government exercise that polls more than 10,000 people in England about a range of subjects relating to community activity.
The results of this year’s survey, which relate to the year to the end of March, were published at the beginning of the month. They show, as the National Council for Voluntary Organisations put it, that “the Covid-19 pandemic and the resultant lockdown has led to the most rapid changes in volunteering patterns since the survey began in 2013”.
Andy also talks about his preparation for running the London Marathon in October for Skylarks, a small charity that supports children with disabilities and additional needs. To sponsor him, visit his fundraising page.
