Beidou has made her first appearance in Genshin Impact’s main story with the Inazuma prologue quest. While she’s featured on several banners so far, unlucky players may still have not managed to pull her. However, Genshin Impact is giving her away for free this month!
Players will be able to unlock Beidou for free by playing the Thunder Sojourn Event, available until August 9th, 2021. Thunder Sojourn can only be played in Inazuma. To be able to begin the event, players must complete the quest “Ritou Escape Plan” in Chapter 2: Act 1 of the main Archon quest, as well as the “Voyage Prep” quest in Ritou. Finally, players must be at least Adventure Rank 30+.
How to Play the Thunder Sojourn Event in Genshin Impact
This event features four different acts, each with its own type of challenge. Through the Quest list, players will be able to track the NPC Muzhen on the coast of Ritou. Talking to her will initiate the event, and players will need to talk to her at the end of each Act to unlock the next.
Completing the challenges in Act I, II, and III will grant the player Thunder Pellets. These pellets can be used in the Genshin Impact Event Shop, for various rewards, and are earned through completing the missions listed on the page for each Act. Each challenge within an Act will be relatively the same, and they are self-explanatory once players test them out (either a race, or a fight against enemies). Completing every mission for an Act will involve doing multiple trials.
Act IV involves defeating a Perpetual Mechanical Array in a special Domain. Completing this challenge will grant the player Thunder Crystals, which can also be used in the second tab of the Event Store. Players will get 300 Thunder Crystals every time they challenge the Act IV domain.
To unlock Beidou in Genshin Impact, players will need 1000 Thunder Pellets and 1000 Thunder Crystals. All players need to do is complete missions to save up, and then select ‘Oceanlord’s Oath’ on the Event Overview page to invite Beidou to the party. Players can invite Beidou even if they already have Beidou, as it will give the player a constellation for her instead. Players can only invite Beidou once in this event.
If players complete every mission from Acts I to III, they’ll be able to afford Beidou as well as every item in the Event Shop, meaning players will get a free copy of Beidou, and the rest of the great event goodies available!
