Louis Vuitton has launched the LV Horizon Light Up, inspired by creative director Nicolas Ghesquière‘s Toupie handbag.

Shaped like a spinning top, the speaker weds luxury and technology exquisitely. The LV Horizon Light Up is a leather-bound speaker that — as its name suggests — has light appointments that provide a unique audio-visual experience. Highlights of the speaker include the brand’s monogram patterns found all over, as well as a steel band that lights up to feature the cut-out letters ‘L-O-U-I-S-V-U-I-T-T-O-N’.

According to the Maison, the Horizon speaker aims to serve as an artistic centrepiece of your living room or elevate your wardrobe — it comes with a leather strap so you can take it anywhere you go.

On the audio front, the Horizon Light Up features a three-inch subwoofer, two 0.75-inch tweeters and three microphones for voice calls. It can be paired wirelessly via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or Airplay 2, and also comes with a display dock that charges up via USB-C. On a full charge, it’s touted to offer up to 15 hours of playback.

In 2019 Louis Vuitton launched the Horizon wireless earbuds, which were designed by an audio company called Master & Dynamic. It was available in five colours — jet black, pristine white, bright red, pink and neon yellow — and offered 3.30 hours of listening time on a single full charge. Other luxury fashion brands that have into the earbuds market include Alexander Wang, Fendi, and Dolce & Gabbana. Most of these, however, have been collaborations or simple branding on an existing product.

Priced at S$4,100, the Louis Vuitton Horizon Light Up Speaker is available for purchase in Louis Vuitton’s boutiques and its online store.
