Chucky TV Show Cast Revealed In BTS Image | Screen Rant

The Chucky TV show cast assembles in a new behind-the-scenes image. Chucky slashed his way into the hearts of horror fans for the first time in 1988’s Child’s Play. The sleeper hit movie would quickly spawn a franchise, and in 2019 a reboot movie was released featuring an updated version of the original film’s killer doll.

But not all updates are necessarily improvements on the original and such was arguably the case with 2019’s Child’s Play reboot. Chucky creator Don Mancini certainly wasn’t down with the changes made to his character, which may be why he’s now bringing his own version of horror history’s most famous murdering toy back for a TV show set to air on Syfy and USA Network. Original Chucky voice actor Brad Dourif returns for the new series, along with Jennifer Tilly as Chucky’s bride Tiffany Valentine and Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce. Devon Sawa has also joined the Chucky cast.

Tilly in particular seems excited to be rejoining the Child’s Play universe and has been posting a lot of behind-the-scenes glimpses on her various social media accounts. The actress’ latest posting features several members of the Chucky cast, including Nica Pierce actress Dourif, Bjorgvin Arnarson, Jacob Breedon and Zackary Arthur. See the image in the space below:

Tilly and Dourif are of course familiar to long-time fans of Child’s Play as both made multiple appearances in the long-running movie franchise. Tilly’s character Tiffany Valentine debuted in Bride of Chucky and returned three more times, while Dourif’s Nica Pierce made her first appearance in Curse of Chucky and returned for Cult of Chucky. Arnarson, Breedon and Arthur meanwhile are the newcomers to the Child’s Play universe. Arthur’s character Jake Webber is the new show’s protagonist, described as “a loner trying to find his place in the world after his mom’s death while never connecting with his dad or his peers.” The show’s synopsis says, “After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets.”

Fans of classic Child’s Play indeed have reason to be intrigued by the new twists Mancini and company are putting on the Chucky character with the upcoming series. This is especially true in the wake of the 2019 reboot, which divorced itself entirely from the classic franchise and will be totally ignored by the show. Classic Chucky action is promised by the new show, along with more revelations about the origins of Charles Lee Ray, the serial killer trapped inside the toy. Chucky is set to premiere in the fall of 2021.
