Watch The Race Highlights from The Shortest Ever ADAC Total 24H

Luxury

The famous Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race is an annual event held in Germany since 1970. Its exact title may vary each year, depending on the official naming partner, so this year it is ADAC Total 24H Race. The 24-hour race from 15:30 of 5 June to 15:30 of 6 June was an eventful and uneventful spectacle all at once. After a typical rush at the start, the Porsche 991 GT3 II Cup MR numbered 69 of the Clickversicherung.de Team spontaneously caught fire only about 13 minutes into the race. Several other mishaps occurred because of the rain which, together with the ensuing fog caused a lengthy stoppage of 14.5 hours out of the 24 hours of the race. This unfortunate condition effectively made this the shortest Nürburgring 24 Hours ever in terms of run time and laps.

Of the 121 cars entered, 99 finished the race. The victor is Manthey Racing with French Kevin Estre as the driver for the final sprint in the seat of Porsche 911 GT3 R numbered 911. Coming in second but with an equally impressive performance was the Rowe Racing BMW M6 GT3 numbered 98 with South African Sheldon van der Linde behind the wheel. We praise also the doggedness of German Fabian Schiller of Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed in his Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo numbered 7 who eventually got ahead of the Falken Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R numbered 44 after trailing it for quite some time, securing his team the third place in the race.
